Mrs G Hillier - Headteacher
I am delighted to be the Headteacher of Widmer End and feel proud to be leading such a wonderful community school. My early career was in recruitment and event management, before embarking on my PGCE and later a Masters in Education.
I have been teaching for 15 years and am passionate about teaching and learning and giving all children the best start in life. Widmer End gives the children many opportunities to thrive and find their passion and everything we do is underpinned by our strong values and ethos. My hobbies are walking my dog, yoga and running. I really enjoy taking running club every week with the children.
Mrs H Rouse - Deputy Headteacher
My name is Mrs Rouse and I have been the Deputy Headteacher at Widmer End since January 2022.
Within the school, I lead Teaching and Learning; an aspect I really enjoy having been a class teacher for ten years! Part of my job is making sure that everything we learn is enjoyable and ambitious so that in the future we have many skills to help us in the big, wide world. When I am not in school, I love spending time with my family. I have 3 sons called Henry, Oscar and Noah and they keep me very busy…particularly playing football at the park. We are all big supporters of Wycombe Wanderers.
I love languages and I am trained to be a primary and secondary language teacher. My favourite language is Spanish and I am always practising my French (which I try really hard with). I also love skiing and hope to soon be reunited with the slopes.
My favourite thing about working at Widmer End is that no day is the same! I also love that everyone helps each other out. We are all different and bring something wonderful to our school community!
Mrs D Stenner - Preschool

We have a fantastic team in Preschool, who work well together. It is a joy to work with my colleagues who I call my friends. It is also a privilege to watch the children in our care grow personally, emotionally and educationally whilst having fun and learning through play.
Since qualifying in1990, I have had 4 other jobs in childcare along with a 9 year break to raise my family.
I live with my husband (est.1996) and 2 boys, who are now young men. Our household is football mad and we support Wycombe Wanderers, attending home games.
I have always loved to sing and I get to share this skill with the children as this is a good way to learn whilst having fun.

After thoroughly enjoying my role as a childminder for 4.5 years whilst bringing up my 3rd child, once she started school it was time for me to progress onto something new - I was lucky enough to start working at Widmer End School as a Midday Supervisor before securing my role as Preschool Assistant in Oct 2020!

Mrs A Winterbourne - Rec Teacher

I have lived in the local area for over twenty years. My family enjoys walking and we are very lucky to have some beautiful outdoor areas which are just a short drive away. I also enjoy reading and firmly believe that there is no such thing as too many books! I love reading to the children at school and hope that they too will grow up believing the same.
Mrs E Warden - Rec Teacher
I have been part of our Widmer End school community since 1999 and currently teach in our Reception Class. It is a privilege to share the children's excitement as they embark on their life long learning journey. Some of my interests include walking, listening to music and travelling!
Ms E Russell - Rec Teaching Assistant / Midday Supervisor

Mrs L Van Der Merwe - Y2 Teacher
I have been at Widmer End for 11 years working across Key Stage 1 and 2 and am currently in Year 2 with the responsibilities of Key Stage Leader, Reading Coordinator (including Accelerated Reader) and School Librarian.
Reading is one of my favourite things to do and it always has been. There are books in every room of my house! Even when I was a girl- a long time ago, I used to love reading. I even used to read under the covers in bed with a torch. Reading allows me to stay up to date with new educational trends and allows me to relax too. I also love teaching Maths and believe that Maths is magic!
No two days at school are the same and hearing the ‘a-ha’ moment when something clicks for a child who has been struggling with their learning is priceless.
I am married with two teenage children, both of whom attended Widmer End. Out of school, I enjoy doing a range of crafts and spending time with my family. We speak English and Afrikaans at home and have a little Yorkshire terrier called Buddy.
Mrs N Tye - Y2 Teaching Assistant
I have lived in the area for more than 25 years and been at Widmer End since 2012 as a midday supervisor and then an LSA since 2015. I love animals - I have 2 rabbits, Bruno and Coco. Particularly like working in KS1 - there is nothing more rewarding than supporting the children and seeing them flourish.
Mr P Dollemore - Y3 Teacher
Mrs S Bravington - Y3 Teaching Assistant
Mrs A Floyd - Y3 Teaching Assistant
Hello! I'm Mrs Floyd. I have been involved at Widmer End school since September 2012, when my daughter joined reception. I began my Widmer End journey as a parent helper, moving to Parent Governor, then Preschool and now as an LSA in KS2.
My career has been quite varied but always involved working with people and caring for their wellbeing. I am very passionate about children's wellbeing and supporting positive mental health. A happy child is able to focus on their learning and work outside of their comfort zone, which in turn helps them grow as individuals.
Recently, I took on the role of ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) to further support the children at WECC school. I really believe the ELSA role will help assist our students, to understand themselves and their emotions, whilst becoming resilient individuals.
On a personal note, I am a mum of two. A daughter who is now at high school and my son who is still currently in primary school. I love being a mum, even on the days it is challenging!
My hobbies are reading, art, board games and watching films. I'm a big Harry Potter fan and belong to Slytherin House (much to the amusement of some of the WECC students). I love dressing up and have no shame about wearing something wacky and fun. I love to laugh!
Ms K Allen - Y3 Teaching Assistant
I have worked at Widmer End since April 2021. I run the Makaton club at lunchtimes.
My main hobbies are ballet dancing and Makaton, especially songs! I love music and spending time with my children.
I love spending time with the children in school, they never fail to make me smile and laugh.
Mrs B Mills - Y4 Teacher
I currently have the privilege of being the year 4 class teacher. I have been working at the school for many years in various guises, and actually began my journey with Widmer End as a parent helper back in 2012. 10 years that seem to have just flown by! I am one of the lucky ones that can truly say 'I love my job'. Within my role, I have been fortunate enough to be supported in developing a passion of mine: to teach, learn and support children through accessing the great outdoors. I currently run Eco Warriors, an after school club for children excited and motivated in enjoying, protecting and benefitting from the world around us. The club is always fully subscribed, which shows just how passionate our children are in learning about, and caring for our planet. I am currently completing a qualification so I can develop our whole school Forest schools provision so ALL children can reap the benefits of being outdoors and engaging in practical experiences. I cannot wait to see this provision become embedded throughout Widmer End, in the very near future - watch this space!! Not only am I responsible for developing Forest schools, I am currently Widmer's subject lead on History. I am committed to and passionate about ensuring children receive rich and immersive experiences as they journey through our historical landscapes, developing curiosity and knowledge about our past and begin to develop understandings as to how the past influences our now! Much of what is delivered in Forest schools links to all areas of the National curriculum, with history providing particularly rich opportunities to explore learning, this means my two key areas of responsibility are very well connected.
On a personal note, I have 3 young children, 2 of whom are still travelling through Widmer End primary school, this means when I am not teaching, I am still surrounded by little people! Having my children at the school in which I teach, it can be hectic at times but equally enables me to understand things from a parent perspective as well as with my teacher hat on. I try to apply my parent hat whenever considering new ideas or requests of families as I really do understand the trials and tribulations of being a full time working parent. Equally, I want my children to have the best academic, social and emotional journey possible, so I am well placed and highly invested in supporting the school to be the best it can be!!
I am an animal lover and am well known amongst the children and staff for having a menagerie of animals at home - I'm still trying to convince Mrs Hillier to allow me to extend my little zoo onto the school grounds!!! I'm not there yet! Even without my school zoo, I feel privileged to work at Widmer End, a little school with a big heart and a place I feel we can all make a difference.
Mrs J Sadler - Y4 Teaching Assistant
Mrs F Stone - Y4 Teaching Assistant
Well, I first fell in love with Widmer End School, when I visited as a prospective parent way back in 1993, before my son started school. It just felt “right” as soon as we came in and David was lucky enough to get a place, even though we live out of catchment. He later went on to RGS and now works in Technical Theatre, an interest in that began putting on plays at this school.
I started work here in 1998, in Reception class as an LSA, having previously been a parent volunteer in several classes, earning the title of “Papier Mache Queen”! I do love a bit of Craft, although my background is Science, working in Medical Research for 14 years. I worked in several classes as well as Reception, and did 1:1 SEN support. During this time, I served on the School Governing Body as a Parent Governor and Non-Teaching Staff Governor, was on the new Preschool committee and helped out as a Dinner Lady when needed. The staff here are always flexible!
In 2006, I left Widmer End to take up an opportunity that had arisen in another of my passions, working as an Administrator and Coach at Wycombe Badminton Centre. I was involved with a schools coaching project and Widmer End was one of the schools I visited. I loved this job and was able to expand my role within coaching, starting courses and groups for children and adults to learn and play badminton. I began playing age 10, and although I have now stopped playing, after a long and enjoyable competitive playing career, I still coach most weeks at a club I’ve been with since 1995.
By 2013, I started to really miss working in school, and made a mental list of schools I had coached in that I would like to work in. Widmer End was at the top of that list and when I visited Miss Burch, a job had just come up, back in Reception with Mrs Winterbourne, who was the Reception Teacher when I left. So back I came, and although the child I came to work with left some time ago, I’m still here.
I can proudly say I have now worked in every year group in the school. My favourite subjects are Science, Maths, ICT and PE, but also enjoy Art and DT. I love to read and will take at least 10 books on holiday with me. I’m learning to crochet too.
I have learned so many things whilst working at this school, the saying, “Every day is a school day,” is so very true.
Mrs J Martin - Y5 Teacher
Miss G Lunnon - Y5 Teacher
My name is Miss Lunnon and I am head of Key Stage 2 and Year 5 teacher. I have been at Widmer End School since 2013. I am also a moderator for Bucks CC, for writing in KS2, and I am becoming an ABLE teacher. I enjoy music and can play the piano and flute. I have a passion for improving writing and lead writing across the school. I really enjoy teaching and being able to see children achieve their goals. I love that each day is different and I get to teach a range of lessons. I enjoy sport and have played both netball and rugby. I enjoy watching rugby and supporting England when they play.
Miss I Malik - Y5 Teaching Assistant
Miss H Larcombe - Y5 Teaching Assistant
Mr P Dutton - Y6 Teacher
I have worked at Widmer End for 8 years now and I currently teach Year 6. I am the subject leader for Maths. I also have a passion for sports. I run the Years 5 and 6 football club and also coach with Penn and Tylers Green FC. Outside of school I enjoy playing golf, supporting Huddersfield Town and visiting National Trust properties with my family. I am a keen runner and have completed several half marathons.
Mrs V Regan - Y6 Teaching Assistant
Mrs P Oxby - Y6 Teaching Assistant
Mrs E Archer-Doran - Y6 Teaching Assistant
Mrs E Hayes - SENDco
I’m Mrs Hayes and I started working as SENCo at Widmer End Combined School in February 2022. I’ve previously taught in Key Stages 1 and 2, as well as for NHS mental health services before I became a teacher. Social, Emotional and Mental Health is a key interest of mine.
My favourite part of working in schools is getting to know the children and watching them learn. Those moments when you see a child suddenly grasp a concept or apply their new skills are amazing to be part of.
Outside of work, I enjoy trying food from around the world and having a go at recreating it at home. You might also occasionally find me a few metres up in the air, clinging to an aerial silk as a fun way to exercise.
Mrs C Payton - SENDco
I’m Ms Payton and share the SENDco role as well as having other Inclusion responsibilities in the school. I have been at Widmer End since January 2022 and absolutely love it here-what a wonderful school community!
I have been teaching since 2005 and my background was originally as a secondary school English teacher/pastoral leader but I have also taught in both special education as a senior teacher and alternative provision as a SENCo. I am really happy to be back in mainstream using some of the skills and experience I developed in these positions. In my spare time I love reading, watching films, yoga, walking and exploring new places.
Mrs B Ormshaw - Secretary
I have been at Widmer End School for over 20 years - since my own children came here. After serving on the PTA and volunteering in school for a while, I was offered the role of classroom assistant. A few years later, I added Admin assistant to my roles and when Mrs Brook retired, School Secretary. I have also been Clerk to the Governing Board and helped run after school clubs - craft, gardening, Mang'ang'a.
After visiting our link school, Mang'ang'a Primary School, in Kenya in 2012 I became passionate about helping the staff, children and their families, and have been the connection between the two schools ever since. It is a privilege to be part of making the connection between children who live such different lives, helping them to understand each others worlds and to provide the staff with badly needed resources.
One of the things I like best about working in the school office is the variety. You never know what the day ahead holds and what jobs you will have to do.
One of the things I like least about working in the school office is the variety. You never know whether you will ever finish any of the jobs you hoped to get done!
Miss P Bailey - Bursar
My name is Miss Bailey and I have been working at Widmer End School as the Bursar since October 2019 and love it! It's such a warm welcoming school, the staff and children make everyday enjoyable, there is never a dull moment. When I'm not at school I am mostly looking after my little girl Amelia and our two chihuahuas but when I manage to get some free time I head out for a run and go to a yoga class once a week - I also help Mrs Hillier take the running club every week, we have a great time!
