Widmer End School Prospectus 2026/27

Being a small village school, we know all our children as individuals. Our staff team are unrivalled in their dedication and commitment to their jobs and we all work together every week to provide teaching and learning opportunities to match all needs and abilities. Our full-time pastoral lead also supports all of our families and children with their emotional wellbeing. The children at Widmer End are amazing. They are confident and motivated learners whose enthusiasm is palpable as you walk into the building. Children are given a range of responsibilities in school which are integral to how our school is run. Pupil voice is very important to us; therefore, roles such as School Councillor, Ambassadors and Junior Road Safety Officers are chosen by other pupils during Democracy Week, ready for the year ahead. Set in generous grounds with a large playground and field, we are able to provide a range of outdoor activities, such as Forest School, in addition to our broad and rich curriculum inside the classroom. At Widmer End, we believe education goes beyond the classroom. We care deeply about the whole child, creating opportunities for every child to explore, try new things and discover new passions. Through a wide range of enrichment activities such as sport and the arts, children build confidence, resilience and a life-long love of learning. “There is a strong focus on making sure that pupils learn about healthy lifestyles.” Ofsted 2023
