Safeguarding
Safeguarding and Child Protection
At Widmer End School we ensure that our children are provided with a safe and secure environment in which to learn. This means we operate rigorous safeguarding checks during recruitment and beyond to ensure the right personnel are employed at our school.
Through our Child protection policies, Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies we maintain high expectations of all aspects of safety.
We work in partnership with parents and families with regards to children's welfare and support families where necessary to ensure the right help is provided.
Our curriculum teaches children to identify risk and how to keep safe in a variety of situations including bullying and e-safety.
Our designated Safeguarding lead is Mrs G Hillier, Headteacher and may be contacted via email safeguarding@widmerend.bucks.sch.uk or through the school office 01494 714371
We will always share our intention to refer a child to Social Care (First Response) with their parent/carer’s consent, unless to do so could put the child at greater risk of harm or impede a criminal investigation. If in doubt, we will consult with First Response on this point. We recognise that GDPR data Protection Act 2018 must not be a barrier for sharing information regarding safeguarding concerns in line with ‘Working Together’.
